Joining PEPA

Benefits of membership

The Association was founded in 1963, and has around 2,300 members. Current benefits include:

Receipt of the PEPA Newsletter twice a year. The Newsletter includes news of members, topical information about the Philips company, along with articles of interest to retired people.

Full access to the members’ sections of this website. These include the latest PEPA, pensions, and Philips news, a report and photo album from the most recent Annual Reunion, and the ability to download PEPA, and other, documents. There is also a Company History section with various articles and links concerning the Philips story over the years.

A card is sent to members on their 80th, 90th and 100th birthdays, and also (if we have the information) on their 50th, 60th, 65th and 70th wedding anniversaries.

Eligibility

You are eligible to join PEPA if:

You are in receipt of a pension or a commuted pension from any pension scheme of/or arranged by Philips Electronics UK Limited or its subsidiary companies, or you were an employee of and had completed at least ten years’ service (which need not have been continuous) with Philips Electronics UK Limited or one of its subsidiary companies and who has reached retirement age; AND you were employed at any time by one of the above-mentioned companies.

The surviving spouse of a deceased PEPA member may, if they wish, request to become a member in their own right.

If you are the widow(er) of a Philips employee who was employed as above, and you have now reached retirement age, you may be eligible to join PEPA as an Associate Member.

If you would like to join PEPA, but are not entirely sure if you meet the membership criteria, please apply to join anyway, and we will make checks on your behalf.
